I love reading both fiction and non-fiction, but it’s only been within the last five years that I’ve leaned into personal development and business-focused books. Truthfully, I fell out of this practice over the past few months due to the demands of puppy life, but I’m excited to be back into this habit. One of my clients and a few other mentors highly recommended “10x is Easier than 2x by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy, so I decided to make it my book for July.

I’m only 15 pages in, and I already find myself highlighting feverishly. One passage that really stood out to me is:
“10x becomes your perceptual filter for everything you do. Everything becomes either 10x or 2x. Anything that is not 10x doesn’t meet the filter and gets released from your attention.”
Driving home after my morning walk and training session with Oakley, I found myself pondering where my attention was being drawn and identifying potential bottlenecks. Being fiercely creative and incredibly curious, it’s easy for me to want to do “All the things.” While curiosity is a fantastic trait, it also comes at a cost.
“The greatest human bottleneck is attention.”
Once back home, I sat down to journal about this, asking myself where my attention was bottlenecked and how I could address it. Through this reflection, I gained clarity and gave myself permission to admit that I’m currently not enthusiastic about the idea of coaching. Instead, nurturing my creative side feels more fulfilling. I want to focus on creating digital products, templates, and launching a series of courses and e-guides, rather than building a coaching membership community.
As I continue reading “10x is Easier than 2x,” I look forward to revisiting this post with updates on how I’m integrating the book’s principles into my business and life.
